Yes, it is possible to bring your dog with you, as long as there is enough space so that it’s comfortable for both you and your dog. We also recommend that your dog wears a life vest for extra safety.
Space considerations
Sit-inside kayaks: In a solo sit-inside kayak, space is usually very limited and it may be too tight for a dog. In a tandem sit-inside kayak, however, there is often enough room if it’s just you and your dog.
Sit-on-top kayaks: These have a bit more open space in front of the seating area, which can work well depending on the size of your dog. Again, it depends on how big your dog is and whether it can sit or lie comfortably without affecting balance.
SUP boards: Bringing a dog is possible, but balance can be trickier, especially with larger dogs.
Weight limits (including packing)
Solo Sit-inside: 145 kg
Tandem Sit-inside: 250 kg
Solo Sit-on-top: 135 kg
Tandem Sit-on-top: 240 kg
SUP: 126 kg
Make sure that the combined weight of you, your dog, and any packing does not exceed these limits.
After your trip
Please ensure you clean the kayak or SUP properly after use, especially if you’ve had your dog with you.
